20/10 gift ideas: a music box for the women you love

October 20 is Vietnamese Women’s Day, marking the founding of the Vietnam Women’s Union in 1930. It’s a day to thank the women around us: mothers, grandmothers, wives, partners, sisters, teachers and colleagues. A bouquet fades in a few days, but a gift that can be kept, opened and listened to again stays with them for much longer.

Why a music box suits October 20

• Gentle and thoughtful: never showy, yet anyone who receives it feels truly thought of.
• Personal: a name, a special date or a short message, engraved directly into the wood for free.
• It comes with music: pick a song tied to a memory you share, and every time it’s wound up, that memory comes back.
• Made to last: a wind-up music box needs no batteries, and looks lovely on a desk or a bookshelf.

Ideas by recipient

• For your mom or grandma: pick a song the whole family knows and engrave “Thank you, Mom” or the children’s names. You can also send a family photo for Linh Lang to print on the wooden panel inside.
• For your wife or partner: engrave the day you met or your wedding date, and choose your song. An easy pick is You & Me.
• For a sister or best friend: a bright illustrated design like the Green Grass music box or the vinyl record music box, with a line only the two of you get.
• For a female colleague or teacher: a short thank-you engraved on the front of the box feels respectful and warm.

Linh Lang also has music box designs made especially for October 20. Message Linh Lang to see photos of these designs and get help choosing one.

Make it yours

• More than 40 melodies, from international favorites to deeply Vietnamese songs like Bèo dạt mây trôi. See the melody list.
• Free engraving of a name, a date or a message, usually 30–50 characters. See the engraving options.
• Custom printing: send a photo and Linh Lang prints it on the wooden panel around the movement.

Order early to make it in time

Ready-made music boxes take about 1–2 days, custom orders about 2–3 days. Hanoi has same-day express delivery; other provinces take about 1.5–5 days depending on the region. With October 20 so close, message Linh Lang as soon as you can to check designs and delivery times before ordering.

And if it can’t arrive exactly on the day, don’t worry: a thoughtful gift that arrives a few days late is always worth it. Browse more music boxes from Linh Lang.
