Linh Lang started with a single music box made as a gift for a friend. A melody chosen on purpose, a name engraved on the wooden lid — a small thing the person kept for years. That is when we realised what we actually make is not woodwork, but a way to hold on to a memory.
Every music box starts with the melody you pick. The cylinder and the comb have to line up exactly — a fraction off and the tune plays out of key, too quiet, or not at all. The wooden case is cut, sanded and finished by hand, engraved to order, then the movement goes in.
Every piece passes through a maker's hands from the first cut to the final finish. No two are identical.
You choose the melody, the lettering, the engraved message and the case design. Engraving is free.
We use moisture-treated natural wood with a smooth finish that will not warp over time.
We advise from choosing the melody through to the final design, and revise until it feels right.
